As you may know, our historic McKinney Chapel, originally founded in 1820, was purchased by the McKinney Chapel Committee in January 2023. This purchase was made possible by a most generous gift by Vineyards members Kim & Pat Popovits.
Many improvements have been made since the January, 2023 acquisition. These improvements include:
Please stop by some time to enjoy the peaceful serenity and beauty of this little gem in our midst. As with all old facilities, there will always be more work to be done to maintain and improve the chapel facilities.

Many improvements have been made since the January, 2023 acquisition. These improvements include:
- Replaced 25 year old HVAC system
- Foam insulated the flooring under the Chapel
- Replaced all exterior electrical wiring between the Chapel buildings and the Pavilion
- Installed new plumbing in the bathrooms, including fixtures
- Painted the Chapel exterior
- Painted the bathrooms
- Replaced and painted the steps to the Annex
- Refinished (stain) the Chapel front and side entrance doors
- Repaired the Pavilion deck floor and replaced the railings
- Added benches to the Pavilion and painted the new carpentry there
- Built a new wall separating the Pavilion serving and prep area from its seating area
- Sanded and repainted the metal tables in the Pavilion serving area
- Regraded and added gravel to the driveway and parking area
- Re-painted the Chapel and Annex roofs
- Replaced the Chapel ceiling light fixtures
- Installed new cross in the Chapel
- Added plantings, transplanted shrubs, trimmed trees and shrubs, and added mulch to the gardens
- Installed “fish” emblem in the Pavilion
- Acquired foldable chairs
- Replaced Christmas nativity barn
